CHEVROLET SPARK LPG REVIEW

Now a days, almost all small-segment vehicles including Maruti-Suzuki and Hyundai are introduced in the market in LPG models also. But the problem is that most of them runs smoothly on petrol rather than on LPG. But Chevrolet's new Spark LPG is different from all, thanks to the next generation LPG kit used in the Spark. Believe me or not, the new Chevrolet Spark LPG offers smoother performance on LPG rather than on petrol. The new Spark LPG combines drivability and low cost together. Instead of the veturi type gas kit used in ordinary LPG models, Spark has used Sequential injection kit. Almost all cars are started on petrol and then the fuel mode is changed where as the Spark LPG can start in LPG mode itself. As a result, there is no power reduction, jerking and back firing as in venturi type gas kits. Also, the mode change from petrol to LPG can't be detected. The only difference is that the LPG mode offers more pickup.

Design
The new chevy's advantages are compactness, less maintenance cost and mileage. This doesn't sacrifices the pickup or interior space. Though it looks compact from outside, the interior is spacious. As a result, Spark has become the no.1 city car in India. The brand name "Chevrolet" itself offers some reputation to Spark among other cars.

Interior
The interior of new Spark LPG is cuter than the old models. The new biege theme gives a more bright and spacious feel. The hybrid seating offers greater comfort. The meters, cute steering, a/c vent and nobes has improved a lot.
The seats offer a comfortable journey in the Spark. 4 persons can travel comfortably in Spark. The LPG model also has central locking and front power window.

Driving
The mode change switch on the dashboard is used to transfer from petrol mode to LPG mode and vice versa. When petrol is finished, the mode is automatically changed to LPG mode. If the mode is changed from petrol to LPG when gas is empty, the car also gives visible and audio warnings.
The engine is smoother and refined in the gas mode. The engine sound is less than Wagon-r, santro and estilo. The 0-100 km time is 15.93sec for Spark. The aerodynamic design helps Spark to attain great speed.
According to the ARAI certification, the mileage of Spark in LPG mode is 13.7 km/L which is quiet higher in this category. The LPG model has warranty period of 100,000km or 3 years as in Petrol model. The servicing is also free upto 45000 km or 3 years.
