8 SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES TO AVOID ACCIDENTS

Day by day, the number of automobiles on our roads is increasing so is the number of accidents. Though most of the accidents are caused by careless drivers, atleast some are due to faulty technologies used in the automobile. Here are some safety technologies used to avoid accidents:-
1. Stability Control System
It is used to prevent Rollover crashes. This is done by automatically stopping the car and modulating the throttles when it detects that the vehicle may potentially rollover. Nowadays, most of the cars such as General Motors (GM), Ford, Volvo etc. are equipped with Stability Control System.
2. Tire Pressure Monitoring
Almost all new cars are equipped with tire-pressure monitoring system that warns driver if the tire pressure is not sufficient. The sensors built on tires will alert drivers through an warning sound, a blinking on a panel, or both.
3. Sensitive Airbags
Now, new airbags that can calculate the vehicle's speed, the weight of the occupants, seating positions, and the head's size and chane its shape and air pressure to compensate the condition have been developed. The BMW uses these type of airbags.
4. Collision Mitigation
The Collision Mitigation System is a cruise control system that can automatically adjust the throttle and stop the car to keep a safe distance from another car. This facility also tightens the seat belts and automatically hits the brakes when is detects that a collision may happen. New Mercedes - Benz cars are equipped with this facility.
5. Blind Spot Detection
Blind Spot Technology alerts the driver if the car is going to hit an object from his blind spot. The driver is warned with a flashing light on the mirror, vibration on the seat or steering wheel or a sound.
6. Emergency Brake Assistance
This safety technology is entirely different from ABS (Anti-Locking Brake System) or Electronic Brake-Force Distribution. It provides additional brake pressure if it detects that the driver makes a sudden stop.
7. Rearview Camera
With a rear view camera that provides wide shot of the back of the car, accidental back-over while parking can be avoided.
8. Emergency Response
This safety technology works by automatically unlocking doors and shutting off the fuel when airbags deploy.
